With the many ancho poblanos growing in our backyard, this has become a new favorite recipe. While the original recipe we used is from @saveurmag, we chose to add in the steak for a more complete meal along with shredded cheese as an optional topping. The dish would be delicious sans steak for a vegetarian meal or with chips as an appetizer.

There are many recipes for Poblano Rajas online so, even if you don’t try this one, you HAVE to try one.

From planning in winter to planting in spring and From planning in winter to planting in spring and harvesting in summer, I think about my garden all year round. Nothing beats picking fresh vegetables from the vine and plopping them on a fresh pie. Cherry peppers have a smooth heat and noteworthy crunch that makes them perfect for pickling. As a bonus, they’re also available on grocery store shelves in the off-season. My husband loves the flavors of sharp provolone and salty prosciutto in a classic stuffed cherry pepper, so I thought why not deconstruct that bite and reimagine it on a pizza? This pie packs heat that is quickly balanced by the softness of mozzarella, the slight nuttiness of sharp provolone, and the sweet and smooth texture of crushed tomatoes. Paired with the silky mouthfeel and elegant flavor of Coppola Pinot Noir, this pizza is both surprising and crave worthy - leaving you wanting more with each bite.

This pizza celebrates the taste of the Amalfi Coast: the bright zing of Amalfi lemons, the flavor of freshly sliced summer squash, and the delicate but indulgent mouthfeel of fresh mozzarella cheese. I envision this pizza and its balance of flavor as a postcard from my first experience visiting Italy. Having never tried stuffed squash flower before, I was surprised to see it on most menus. Much like a classic pizza, these delectable morsels of garden grown summer squash and Italian cheese left you wanting another bite. The brightness of lemon zest and gentle heat of crushed red pepper take this humble starting course and turn it into a magnificent pizza. Now, when I think of my time roaming the streets of Sorrento and Capri, I can pull this pizza together with a glass of chilled Coppola Sauvignon Blanc and start daydreaming about my next trip.
