Introducing Wine Podcasts Worth a Listen – 8 Tastemakers in Wine
We have interviewed many wineries in our 97 episodes of The Uncorked Corner Podcast, but we only highlighting eight in this blog post. While we are not strictly a wine podcast, we are one of the many wine podcasts worth listening to. Our guests join us knowing our listeners may be new to wine so they keep things fun and light. Every episode concludes with a tasting and an introduction to some of the varietals available at the time of our recording.
It’s no coincidence that two of our top wine podcasts thus far were episodes 1 and 2. Those were the early days of our interviewing guests, but they were two of the originals that really stuck with us. As far as wine podcasts go, you can get really granular or you can keep things more high-level (as noted above). All of these are friendly for listeners who are at any stage in their wine journey – from newbie wine tasters to experienced sommeliers.

Episode 22 – Hailstone Vineyards
Chris Zazo, Founder of Hailstone Vineyards, has a very interesting background. One of our favorite parts about this industry is the many pathways professionals take before finding their groove in wine – many completely outside of the wine industry. This Texas-based winery has quite an unorthodox journey and its wines are divine.
Episode 31 – Hermit Woods Winery
Living in New England, it’s not every day you hear about locally bottled wines. Our Co-Host Nick stumbled upon Hermit Woods Winery and was impressed with their wine and mead collection. This New Hampshire-based winery specializes in classic wine styles made with some… unconventional local fruits.
Episode 75 – Hunter Glenn Estate
We may be biased, but family-led teams are superior. Caroline and Jeffrey, take us into the grape-growing business and introduce us to the delicious wines from their family’s vineyards. In an effort to leave their own stamp on the vineyard, this sibling duo even used their expertise to create a wine of their own.
Episode 87 – Patrimony Estates
Here’s the deal: a truly unique cabernet sauvignon that is worthy of its luxury status. The wines may be on the pricier side for average consumers, but it is luscious. Daniel Daou gives us a lesson on the unique terroir in Paso Robles where their award-winning grapes grow. This region is home to many special wines and this is no exception.
Episode 88 – Gemma di Luna
When you think about celebration, what do you think of it? For us, it’s sparkling wine! Gemma di Luna is an Italian wine label making sweet prosecco, moscato, and pinot grigio. Filippo gives our listeners advice on how to best try sparkling wine varietals and describes the origin of their pinot grigio and how it is the perfect blend.
Episode 95 – Teutonic
One of our most charismatic duos to date, Olga and Barnaby Tuttle, tell us their story of how they got into German-inspired wines… in Portland, Oregon! It’s no secret that Oregon produces noteworthy pinot noirs, but what about Riesling and Gewurztraminer? In this episode, we got to try some of these more distinct wine styles.
We aim to bring wineries and vineyards of all sizes and styles onto our podcast. As Filippo Lapides explained to us, wine is food… it evolves in the bottle and changes in the glass.
